What we do
ICTandclimatechange.com provides information, analysis and advice for players in the energy and ICT sectors, focusing on the relationship between Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) and climate change.
ICT companies can be victims, villains or heroes of climate change:
- victims - like all other industries, ICT companies, especially telecoms networks, are subject to climate change.
- villains - ICT companies produce emissions that add to climate change.
- heroes - unlike other industries, ICT can be part of the solution. ICT can change the way we work, live and play, and help to dematerialize and decarbonise other sectors of the economy.
If you are an ICT company, we can develop strategies which make you less likely to be a villain, and could even turn you into a hero when it comes to climate change.
Why we do it
We believe that the findings of the UK government's Stern Review, and the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, not to to mention the flood of information about melting ice caps and rising carbon emissions, are too serious to ignore. We'd like to use our expertise to do something about it - and to help our clients find ways to do something about it.
Who we are
ICTandclimatechange.com pools the expertise of senior people from the energy and ICT sectors. Our revenues come from providing web-based subscription services, and from individual assignments for specific clients: bespoke consultancy projects, workshops, high level briefings and training. We are independent of energy companies, telecoms operators, service providers, media outlets, and hardware and software vendors. Our content and advice is totally independent: you can buy our services, but not our opinions.
