We have worked in-house for ICT and energy companies, and for professional service organisations serving the needs of these industries. Stephen Andrews was a founder partner and then senior director of the highly regarded European energy consultancy, ILEX, (acquired by Pöyry 2003) Stephen worked on business strategy and regulation up to board level. Through his own new company, Lower
Vivienne Caisey is an independent social marketing consultant and trainer. Since 2004 she has been working with Brilliant Futures Ltd (http://www.brilliantfutures.org/), adapting and applying her commercial marketing experience to a range of social marketing interventions, training and consultancy projects. These are aimed at promoting behavioural change, particularly in health and the environment .In addition to regular training sessions at the National Social Marketing Centre she has run bespoke training courses and workshops for a wide range of Primary Care Trusts, Health Networks, government departments and public sector clients. Formerly a Board Director of the
Dr Jeremy Green has experience in the telecoms and space industries, with involvement in marketing, regulation and scenario forecasting. As Practice Leader, Mobile, at Ovum he has researched, written, and presented on the mobile telecoms industry. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and has written columns for a number of industry publications and websites. Before joining Ovum he served as Head of Market Planning for ICO Global Communications, where he led a team responsible for market research, forecasting and competitor intelligence. In another role he was responsible for documentation of commercial requirements and liaison between the marketing and engineering groups. Jeremy also represented ICO in the GSM Association and was Chair of the Association's Satellite Interest Group (SATIG). He helped steer the satellite operators into full membership of the Association. Jeremy has also been an executive consultant in KPMG's Information Communications and Entertainment practice. Liz Reason is an experienced policy analyst and strategist in the energy and climate change arena. During a wide-ranging career in the energy sector, she has acquired extensive knowledge and experience of policy development and implementation. She specialises in providing innovative solutions to policy and strategic challenges in complex and dynamic environments, through effective communication to a wide variety of stakeholders and other groups. Her ability to engage with people at all levels allows her to create allies willingly committed to work on projects of significant change. Liz is the founder of climate change consultancy www.r2bc.co.uk/, and is currently engaged on a number of major projects. Liz was appointed a member of the Eco-Towns Challenge Panel by the Department of Communities and Local Government in May 2008: Eco-Towns are aimed at delivering new communities with 90% lower carbon emissions.
Stephen Young is the founding director of www.ICTandClimateChange.com Ltd, which he set up in 2007, and is also working on other web-based initiatives to help reduce CO2 emissions. Stephen is currently contracted as a Senior Telecom Expert to the International Telecommunication Union, the specialized agency of the United Nations for ICTs. Stephen is authoring a study on the relationship between ICTs and climate change and the role for regulators. Deliverables are a chapter in the ITU's Trends in Telecommunication Reform 2010, and a presentation of the main findings at the ITU's 10th Global Symposium for Regulators, November 2010.
In addition to his commercial activities, Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Brighton Business School, University of Brighton, where he teaches micro, macro and behavioural economics: the latter refers to an emerging branch of economics which explains why human behaviour may not fit conventional economic models, and how this understanding can help bring about positive behavioural change.
Before founding ICTandClimateChange.com, Stephen was a Principal Consultant and 'Thought Leader' on climate change and ICT at independent analyst and consulting firm, Ovum, which he joined in January 1996. He was lead author of five books published by Ovum in its series of telecoms strategy reports which recorded sales of over £1.6 million. Thse included the best-selling "The Bandwidth Explosion", with its analysis which punctured the myth promulgated by network builders, "If you build it, they will come." Before Ovum, Stephen was Manager, Public Policy for the UK's main fixed line competitor to BT, Mercury Communications Ltd, where he advised on policy and relations with the company's European and UK stakeholders. These included the European Commission, Europe's Public Telecommunications Operators (via ETNO), and Mercury's UK public affairs programme with elected and appointed officials and think tanks. Prior to entering the telecoms sector, Stephen was on the policy staff of the Electricity Consumers' Council, working on privatisation and regulation of the electricity industry. Before that, he was an economics lecturer, specialising in relationships between the state and the enterprise. Stephen's academic qualifications include: BA Economics, First Class Honours and MA in Politics and Government, summa cum laude.
